FAQ
- What does "reduced colours" do?
- The picture is redrawn with at most 256, 64 or 16 colours. Screenshots, logos and drawings usually look the same and become much smaller. Photographs can show banding at 64 or 16 colours.
- What does "lossless" do?
- The file is repacked more efficiently without changing a single pixel. The saving is smaller, but nothing is lost.
- Is transparency kept?
- Yes. Transparent and semi-transparent areas stay as they are.
- Why did reducing colours not help?
- Some pictures do not get smaller with fewer colours. The tool then keeps the lossless result, so the file is never larger than the best lossless version.
- Is metadata removed?
- Yes. Text comments, camera details and time stamps are left out of the result.
