FAQ
- How is a KB counted?
- One KB is 1000 bytes here, so the result also fits websites that count 1024 bytes per KB.
- What if the target cannot be reached?
- The smallest result possible is returned, and the file is marked "target not reached". Try a larger target, or make the picture smaller first.
- Why is PNG not offered?
- Lowering quality does not make a PNG smaller. Save as JPG or WebP to reach a size.
- What happens to transparent areas?
- JPG cannot store transparency, so transparent areas become white. Choose WebP to keep them.
- Does it pick the highest quality that fits?
- Yes, or very close to it. A few trial runs are made for each file, and the best one under the limit is kept.
