How it works

  1. Add JPG, PNG or WebP files, or drop a whole folder.
  2. Set the quality. 75 is a good balance; lower values give smaller files.
  3. Press Convert and wait. AVIF takes longer to create than other formats.
  4. Download each file or all of them as one ZIP.

FAQ

Why is it slow?
AVIF compresses very well, and that takes work. Each file shows how long it has been running. Large photos can take a few seconds each.
Is transparency kept?
Yes. Transparent areas in a PNG or WebP stay transparent in the AVIF.
Will every program open the result?
All current browsers do. Many editing programs and older devices do not yet. If you need the widest support, choose JPG or PNG instead.
Does it work without an internet connection?
Yes, once the page has finished loading. The encoder is downloaded when you open this page.
